Q - (November) I just bought some rose bushes.  Is it too late in the year to plant
them? - GINA
A - Now would be a great time to plant those rose bushes.  The extra moisture this time of year will help them get established.  We do suggest you add a starter
fertilizer (like Espoma's RoseTone Or FlowerTone) & spread some mulch at the
base of the plant (make sure the mulch is not flush with the trunk of the bush.)

Q - I have a bank about 45 feet long that I would like to plant some trees on.  I
found the arborvitae & they look like they might work.  How many trees should
I plant in this area & how much space should I leave between each tree?
- ROBERTA
A - The arborvitae is an excellent choice.  They make a great natural wind, sound or privacy screen.  They will grow 10 - 15' tall & 3 - 4' wide.  For the area you described - If you would like to leave some spacing between the trees at their mature height, we suggest planting 8 trees 4' feet apart.  If you would
like to have them grow flush together, we suggest planting 10 trees 3' feet apart.

Q - Do you have the "Garden Party" Rose in stock?  It's on my Mom's wish list for Mother's Day? - ERIC
A - Unfortunately, we do not stock the "Garden Party" Rose at this time.  Although it is a very beautiful variety of the flower, it is of the Class: Hybrid Tea Rose. Our customers have found this Class of rose somewhat high maintenance & more susceptible to disease & insects. Most of the roses we carry are of the "shrub rose" type.  They have proven themselves more durable, easier to care for & more resistant to disease & insects, particularly the "Double Knockout" Rose.  - BIL
